GEORGE Bar & Grill sealed a comfortable victory over Waterside in the Premier Division of the South & West Dorset League.
The first quarter saw a strong start from both teams, with the ball being continuously moved up and down the midcourt.
George’s WD, Juliette Frampton, made some exceptional interceptions on the centre pass.
Waterside worked hard to move the ball down the court, to GS, Sue Lee, who displayed consistently accurate shooting, but George were able to pull ahead going into the second quarter.
Waterside showed precise and effective teamwork, with players reading the game well to keep possession down the court and convert to points, lowering the score difference.
With a more level scoreline both teams were eager to get the ball to their shooters, resulting in faster-paced play. However, George were able to maintain their lead going into the final quarter.
Waterside defenders worked hard in the circle, but George shooters took advantage of rebounds to further their lead and claim the victory.
Division One

GIRLING AND BOWDITCH 19
BOTH teams started off strongly, not letting the slippery conditions hinder their gameplay.
Girling fought hard, taking advantage of scoring opportunities to keep the score level, however OTC’s C, Emma Louise, worked well to get the ball to her shooters who were waiting to convert to points, allowing OTC to carve out a small lead.
Girling came back fighting, with superb interceptions from GK, Cat Kelly, putting pressure on OTC shooters.
OTC remained strong, however, with consistently good shooting allowing them to stretch their lead.
An injury to OTC’s GS and tactical position changes from Girling increased the pressure on OTC in the final quarter.
Girling and Bowditch continued to fight against every goal attempt by OTC, however with a strong lead and a strong sense of determination, OTC were able to withstand the pressure and further their lead, earning the win.
Division Two

WET conditions provided an extra challenge to both teams throughout the match, but the umpires worked well to keep the game under control.
OJOs GA, Mandy Grafton, displayed exceptional shooting from the edge of the circle, despite superb defensive pressure from Allways GD, Gilly Woodsford, allowing OJOs to pull ahead.
Allways showed great determination in the middle quarters, taking advantage of scoring opportunities and continuing to put pressure on OJOs, however some well-timed passes from OJOs WA, Becky Drake, allowed her team to maintain their lead going into the final quarter.
The final quarter saw Allways continuing to up their game, with brilliant shooting by GS, Henni Green, scoring a number of goals in quick succession.
OJOs fought back hard in the final minutes of the match, giving it their all to end with an eight-goal lead, claiming the victory.
Division Two
POTTING SHED 23
WJNC 47
WJNC WERE quick to find their rhythm, effectively moving the ball down the court where GA, Jaimee Browne, was able to find the net and carve out a good lead.
Potting Shed remained determined, with GA Bryony Davies working hard to find space in the circle, however it was WJNC who took the lead at the end of the first quarter.
WJNC upped the pressure, with outstanding teamwork driving the ball down the court.
Potting Shed responded with fantastic interceptions from WD, Kerry Aston, however this was not enough to stem WJNC’s attacking flow, resulting in a convincing lead for WJNC going into the final quarter.
Potting Shed gave an impressive final push, scoring a string of goals to lower the score difference, however WJNC’s determined play meant that they walked away victorious.
