WEYMOUTH Junior Netball Club’s team are celebrating both their performance in the South & West Dorset League and new sponsorship from Gungho Marketing.
The youth team of under-16s have been promoted to Division One, and in their first season finished an admirable fourth in a competitive division and ended on a high by beating Division winners O Jo’s in the final match of the season.
The sponsorship from Gungho Marketing has provided the girls with new kit, something that has raised the profile of the club and gives the girls team unity off the courts, as well as on the court.
Gungho Marketing CEO Lucy Erskine became involved in netball after her daughter got the bug for the game.
Erskine said: “It’s great to see these girls looking so smart in their Gungho colours and a real privilege to be involved with helping out in a small way.”
Kelly Browne, Weymouth Junior chairman and head coach, thanked Erskine as she said: “These girls absolutely love their new kit and wear it with pride. On behalf of the club I would like to thank Gungho for their sponsorship and support during matches.”
Gungho are currently unbeaten so far this summer season and sit at the top of the table and Browne is pleased with the performance and versatility in the team.
Browne said: “The aim of the match play in the local league is to provide the girls with the competitive experience to support their training. All the girls train with the junior club and many of them have also expanded their training having been selected to access the England Netball Performance Pathway at Satellite and County Academies.”
